High School Leadership Project
"Leadership Project brings together the wisdom, energy and skills of both teens and adults to make for a better community."
The Leadership Project is a program for students in grades 9-12 designed to:
- encourage communication between teens and adults
- boost self-esteem of all participants
- train student leaders in a variety of skills
- promoteindividuality and respect for differences
- promote healthy decision making among members, peers and younger teens
We do this by:
- planning and facilitating Dialogue Nights that promote communication among teens and other adults in our communities
- sponsoring alternative activities open to all teens: Hikes, Dances, Sledding Parties, Movie Nights, Rope Course Challenges, Whitewater Rafting
- participating in trainings and retreats to learn facilitation and leadership skills
- facilitating and participating in group games and activities
- attending state conferences on teen issues including drug and alcohol prevention
